2nd Saturday Cleanups
Join our 2nd Saturday Cleanups throughout the year at various parks and sites in the Coos Bay and North Bend area.
WE NEED YOU - Join our Board! We also have openings on our planning committee and can always use a hand with sign-ins. Contact us for details.
We have projects for every comfort level. These projects are also family friendly as we try to create multiple projects so everyone can come to help. Volunteers are welcome to help with light duties such sign-ins, taking photos, small litter pickup, painting, and invasive plant removal. We also have projects that require a lot of muscle and effort like weed-eating, brush trimming, and areas of large trash accumulations. Come for just a few minutes to the full two hours - many hands make light work!

Come join the best volunteers around to help the beautiful John Topits Park!
In a slight change of calendar*, we are going to help beautify John Topits Park for our May clean up. Projects will include light litter pick up on the trails, heavier trash clean up in the woods and invasive removal. Wear appropriate clothing and footwear and bring whatever supplies you have including work gloves, trash grabbers and tools to help remove ivy. OBAB will have some tools to lend out. There is always something safe and fun for kids to do and we also always need help with registration as well which can be done from a chair!
Meet at the main entrance 355 Hull St, Coos Bay
Sign in will start 15 minutes before the event start time of 10:00 AM, with a hard stop at 12:00 PM.
*May was slated for a clean up at Marshfield Pioneer Cemetery but there are no big projects for OBAB volunteers to tackle, it is more in need of specialized care. Marshfield Pioneer Cemetery will be holding a work day through SOLVE that afternoon, we will be sure to share those details once we know them. Please contact the cemetery at 541-435-1177*
This is a kids and family friendly event. Youth under 18 need to have a release form signed by parent/guardian. Kids 14 and under will need adult supervision. Contact OBAB for details.
